The colossal porticos with fluted Corinthian columns, the copper-clad dome covering a smaller art glass dome visible from the interior and terra cotta trim are characteristic of the Neoclassical architectural style typical of governmental buildings constructed in the early 20th century. The building is no longer used as a courthouse, but houses county offices and several collections of artwork including 27 pieces of public art that were commissioned for its renovation and reopening in 2005. The courthouse is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tours are available by calling the Museum of Florida Art at 386-734-4371. Photo courtesy of Ray Johnson
