The Athens Theatre is one of the few existing examples of a classic American theater in Central Florida. Once the centerpiece of DeLand, the Athens Theatre is a jewel of Italian Renaissance architecture. This historic theater was designed in 1921 by prominent Orlando architect Murray S. King.

The park was built by the county in 2009 and deeded to the city of DeLand, which maintains it. It includes stone tables with checkerboard patterns on top, allowing patrons to play chess. Built in 1884 as the first building of what would become Stetson University, DeLand Hall was restored in 1981, and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It was restored again in 2002.

Concerned with the demolition of architecturally significant properties in the central Florida area, Florida Victorian architectural antiques was formed in 1981 for the salvage and reuse of artifacts and details from those buildings. The collection is housed in an 8,000 sq. foot 1926 building and open for public viewing and items for purchase from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.

The Volusia County Historic Courthouse opened in downtown DeLand on November 18, 1929. Over the years, it has been a landmark and icon for DeLand and Volusia County. Its architectural qualities are reminiscent of classical architecture. The colossal porticos with fluted Corinthian columns, the copper-clad dome covering a smaller art glass dome visible from the interior and terra cotta trim are characteristic of the Neoclassical architectural style typical of governmental buildings constructed in the early 20th century. The building is no longer used as a courthouse, but houses county offices and several collections of artwork including 27 pieces of public art that were commissioned for its renovation and reopening in 2005. In 1905 the Landis & Fish Law Firm erected a brick one-story Romanesque-style building on this site. As the firm grew, it was enlarged in 1925 to the two-story Federal structure you see today.

Florida's First Luxury Estate, built in 1886 for famed hat maker John B. Stetson is the largest, grandest, and most historic home ever built in Florida before the 20th century. This Gilded Age estate is still a private estate. It is not a museum or a home frozen in time, although it predates all other grand mansion museums in Florida. The home of Florida’s first snow bird and famous hat baron was hidden and lost for 100 years. It has recently been rescued, restored and updated in a timeless fashion. Historic tours are offered between February and September.
